Who We Are

Varya is following her passion to share her love of travel with others. She received a graduate degree in Asian Studies at U.C. Berkeley, was a Fulbright Scholar to India, and taught Asian Studies before studying law at U.C. Berkeley and working in San Francisco for many years as an attorney in major law firms.  After decades of taking friends on tours around various parts of Asia, she is now offering personal, well-crafted small group tours to select destinations around the world, researching and finding unique experiences for serious world travelers.  In addition to the value of local guides available to help you explore their culture, Varya will accompany most tours to provide another perspective and ensure a smooth journey.

Our Values and Travel Approach

We believe in the beauty and value of the cultures we visit and we design our tours to leave a minimal footprint on the environment and a positive impact on the local people. We also try, to the extent feasible, to frequent smaller businesses and boutique hotels. The hotels we chose are always of excellent quality with comfortable beds and well-appointed private bathrooms, often reflecting local crafts and customs.   Breakfast is usually provided at each hotel, often an extensive buffet, and the lunches and dinners that are included as indicated in the tour itinerary are at specially chosen, often gourmet, restaurants providing local ambiance and regional cuisine.  Almost all hotels have wi-fi coverage in their lobby and public areas and most provide connection in the rooms as well. You will be required to have medical care and evacuation coverage abroad in case of any unexpected emergencies.  We use only highly respected tour operators and guides in the countries we visit to provide you an exceptional and memorable experience.

Travelers of all ages are welcome, including families with children.   Tour size will range from a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 16.  Tours require good health, patience and, above all, a spirit of adventure.   With low overhead and local partners, we are able to provide you once-in-a-lifetime tours of exceptional value at below-market prices.
